A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Lodoss Spell Swords and Brampton Camels.

The Lodoss Spell Swords beat the Brampton Camels, 9-4, at Ballpark of Brampton. Manuel Morales went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The 23-year old right fielder was a menace to Brampton all day. Lodoss pitcher Dan Ingram got the win. He's now 1-1. David Peña was tagged with the loss. Shawn Pope recorded his 2nd save for Lodoss.

Lodoss used a well-timed hit by Owen Fletcher to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Spell Swords ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Fletcher told the Lodoss Observer. "You win just by scoring more runs."

The 4th-place Spell Swords lifted their record to 53-67.
