Torchbearers Get 6-0 Win Versus Chatfield HS
|
Sprague HS took on Chatfield HS in front of a lively crowd.
The Chatfield HS Mustangs had their hands full with Sprague HS Torchbearers starter Ramiro Rivera, who frustrated Chatfield HS hitters while leading Sprague HS to a comfortable, 6-0 win. Today's win puts Sprague HS at 7-11, while Chatfield HS falls to 11-7.
The Torchbearers got a big at-bat from second baseman Rich Martin. For the game, Martin went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Sprague HS a 1-0 lead.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Rivera.
