The Medicine Hat Drillers topped the Hamilton Industrialists, 7-5, with youngster Hayden Hayes playing a key role. Hayes was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Drillers in the win. Reliever Seiryo Kono picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Rich Jones, who is tied for 3rd in the PCAL with a 1.06 WHIP, took the loss. Medicine Hat currently is in 4th place in the Pacific Alliance Wild Rose at 48-72.

With Medicine Hat leading 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Hayes hit a fastball from Júlio Saucedo for a 2-run double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 7-2.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Medicine Hat manager Michael Burton.
