The Taipei Wardens and Kure Arsenal had fans on the edges of their seats.
Taipei starter Ralph Alonzo pitched well against the Kure Arsenal at Taipei Tianmu Baseball Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Taipei reliever Anthony Lee picked up the win, upping his record to 8-11. Lance Harris absorbed the loss.
Taipei got a clutch hit from Raúl Ibarra. The third baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"We ground out the win," said Alonzo. "That's all that matters."
The Arsenal, at 61-74, have lost 5 in a row.
