Barney Swanson, who is tied for 7th in the PCAL in wins with 10, never let the Spell Swords get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Crushers to a win, 2-1. Swanson picked up the win for Seoul, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 10-3. Jorge Lorenzo earned the save for Seoul, his 19th.

The Spell Swords had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Crushers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old third baseman Loflinger Gorz came to the plate. Gorz hit a run-scoring double on a full count fastball from Lodoss hurler Perry Wichers. It was Gorz's 14th double of the year.

"I was a little disappointed," said Lodoss manager Hidekazu Yamamoto. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

Today's win puts Seoul at 68-44, while Lodoss falls to 50-62.
