Drillers Take Nail-Biter Over Islanders
|
The Medicine Hat Drillers wiggled past the Laval Islanders, 3-2, in 12 innings at Medicine Hat Municipal Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Medicine Hat pitcher Ricardo Cantú. At 40-66, the Drillers find themselves in 4th place in the Pacific Alliance Wild Rose.
The decisive blow was delivered by Sawao Yamasaki in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Ernesto Moreno to win the game for Medicine Hat. The home crowd went nuts.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Cantú.
