Win Goes to Bears in Tight Contest
The Reno Zephyrs got a sterling performance from pitcher Carmelo Lamberti, but the Bakersfield Bears still prevailed, 5-2. Lamberti threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win went to Jonah Wellon in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Anthony Soame took the loss. Ánibal Gallegos sewed up the save, his 10th.

Bakersfield took a 4-2 lead on Luo-shan Lin's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Lin hit in the top of the ninth, left Reno pitcher Anthony Soame visibly frustrated.

"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Lin.

Bakersfield is now 38-66, while Reno is 52-52.
