Industrialists Slip Past Kumamoto, 4-3
|
The Hamilton Industrialists overcame a pretty good performance by Kumamoto shortstop Manny Luján, beating the Mothra, 4-3, in 14 innings. Luján went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. Hamilton reliever Hiroya Ine got the win, raising his record to 4-9. Decheng Zhi was tagged with the loss. The current losing streak for Kumamoto has reached 4 games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ian Osborne? The 24-year old third baseman Osborne stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 14th inning to put Hamilton up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We earned that one," said Osborne.
