The Kumamoto Mothra got a superb performance from pitcher Iván Enríquez, but the Sherwood Park Hoods still won the game, 5-3. Enríquez threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Brenton Walker, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Otso Lyytinen collected his 1st save.

Sherwood Park needed the clutch hitting of Jason Carter to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hoods on top, 4-3. For the game, Carter had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"This was a good win," said Carter.

The 4th-place Hoods sport a record of 36-60.
