Kings Beat Frenchies, 5-2
|
Red Deer pitcher Jeremy Cruz had a large part in his team subduing the Quebec City Frenchies, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. The 'W' lifts Red Deer's record to 48-49.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when catcher Frank Aspinwall, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2040 draft, hit a double. The Kings went on to win.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Aspinwall told the Red Deer Gazette.
