Codgers Claim Late Win
The Palm Springs Codgers topped the Bakersfield Bears, 5-4, in Sovereign League action at Elderberry Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Palm Springs designated hitter Mike Soto. The loss lowers the Bakersfield record to 4-7.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Soto hit a changeup from Ánibal Gallegos for a run-scoring single. The Codgers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"That was a lot of fun, watching both teams compete," said Codgers manager Bob Sullivan.
