Bushby, Battousai March to 5-1 Victory
|
The Edo Battousai stopped the Gwangju Jade Tigers, 5-1, behind an impressive performance from Ernest Bushby. The 24-year old left fielder made life miserable for Gwangju pitching. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner was Mal Jones, who threw 99 pitches over 7.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 4 hits. Edo has now won 4 straight.
With Edo leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Bushby hit a fastball from Chris Morales for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Battousai ahead, 3-0.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Bushby. "Those qualities define our team."
