9-8 Win for Florida in Extras
|
The performance of Vito van Wondel proved critical in helping Florida beat San Antonio, 9-8, in 16 innings. The Farstriders third baseman was 4 for 7 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs. León Zamora snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-2 on the season. Shimei Oyama suffered the loss. By defeating San Antonio, the first-place Farstriders improved to 75-28.
The Farstriders got a clutch hit from left fielder Melvin James. In the bottom of the 16th, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Farstriders.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," James said.
