The Hildegard Saints topped the Dublin Shamrocks, 8-6, in Atlantic Conference action at Hildegard Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Hildegard pitcher and Bottrop, Germany, native Tacettin Tansel. The Saints sport a record of 4-6.

Manfried Gersten had a big 2-run triple for the Saints in the bottom of the second inning. With Hildegard leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a knuckle curve from 17-year old right-handed pitcher Darby Nydie and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Saints ahead, 3-0.

"We ground out the win," said Gersten. "That's all that matters."
