Islanders Slip Past Manila HS, 4-3
|
In a close game at Zhoushan Ballpark, the Zhoushan HS Islanders edged the Manila HS Water Buffalo, 4-3. Zhoushan HS left fielder Dong-po Lei stood apart with his performance. He was 3-4 with 3 doubles and a walk. The Islanders, now 23-21, have won 4 in a row.
Yi Jiu was the walk-off hero for Zhoushan HS. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Islanders center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This wasn't a good win," said Lei. "It was a great win."
