Mountaineers 3-1 Winners Over Taitung HS
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Taitung HS Hermits and Canberra HS Mountaineers get after it.
Mountaineers first baseman Daniel Coughlan left his mark on his team's 3-1 win over the Taitung HS Hermits. Coughlan was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Canberra HS in the contest. Ben Warwick earned the save for Canberra HS, his 10th of the year.
Coughlan had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 changeup from Shawn Cunningham, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Mountaineers a 3-1 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Coughlan.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Taitung HS manager Oscar Olson, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
The third-place Hermits now sit at 21-17.
