The Horizon HS Huskies picked up a win at Lancers Ballpark, topping the Lakewood HS Lancers, 4-1. On the mound for Horizon HS was right-hander Scott Matthews. He played a principal role in the triumph. Matthews got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Chris Davis earned the save, his 3rd, for the Huskies.
Andrew Dunbar had a direct impact on the outcome. Dunbar contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Horizon HS up, 2-0.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Dunbar told the Horizon HS News.
The triumph puts Horizon HS at 5-5 for the season.
