Mamajuanas Use Late Rally to Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Punta Cana Mamajuanas and the Puerto Plata Pacos, 18-year old left-handed pitcher Félix López proved to be the difference. The Punta Cana left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Mamajuanas win. The winning pitcher was López, now 2-1. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. The 6th-place Pacos have dropped 4 straight games.
Paul Cooper, who is tied for 9th in the IBC in runs scored with 17, helped out the Punta Cana cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the shortstop went 1-3 with a triple and a walk.
"Félix had good arm action, good stuff," said Punta Cana manager Tynan Carr.
