Mamajuanas Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Punta Cana Mamajuanas starter Félix López turned in a sparkling performance against the Puerto Plata Pacos, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Punta Cana reliever Júlio Costa was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Allen Alexander. The Mamajuanas, now 3-8, have not found much traction so far in 2042.
The decisive blow was delivered by Devlyn Irving in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Allen Alexander to win the game for Punta Cana. The home crowd went nuts.
"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Irving.
