Djibouti wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Kiefer Buser, falling to the Addis Ababa Rifters, 4-1. Buser threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. José López, now 8-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Allen McGuicken got credit for the save for Addis Ababa. It was his 19th of the year.
Connor Jevons chipped in a solo home run for Addis Ababa in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Jevons, "one at-bat at a time."
The Rifters improved their record to 32-43 by beating Djibouti.
