The Djibouti Soldato got a good effort from starter Jorge Cisneros in defeating the Port Sudan Tycoons at Plano Grounds. The final score was 2-0. José Martínez earned the save for Djibouti, his 19th of the year. Djibouti is now 41-21, while Port Sudan is 25-37.
Cisneros, a native of Purral, Costa Rica, was dealing all game. He kept Port Sudan hitters off-balance, while giving the Soldato 7 quality innings. Cisneros threw 80 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 9.
"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Cisneros. "So I just have to throw strikes."
