Borealis Turn Back Bears, 2-1
|
In a tight tilt between Aurora and Bakersfield, pitcher Dae-hyun Pak was a key contributor. The left-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 2-1 Borealis win. Pak, now 4-6, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The 'W' lifts Aurora's record to 50-46.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Borealis had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when third baseman Pedro Macías hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Héctor Cruz and made the score 1-0, Borealis. Macías went 1-1 with a walk and was hit by a pitch.
"Dae-hyun was locating, throwing all of his pitches," said Aurora manager Michel Provost. "He did a heck of a job."
