Big Day for Lowry as Raiders Down Rifters, 13-4
The Khartoum Raiders topped the Addis Ababa Rifters, 13-4, with youngster Roger Lowry playing a key role. Lowry went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Raiders in the win. Bob Norris got the win, improving to 4-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Earning his 1st save for Khartoum was Arturo Radríguez.

In the top of the sixth, the Raiders grabbed the lead when Lowry hit his 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Edwin Gordon made it 5-3, Khartoum.

Lowry told a Khartoum Bulletin reporter that he was "very happy" with the win.

The defeat makes Addis Ababa 26-31.
