Khartoum Claims 4-0 Victory
|
The Khartoum Raiders knocked off the Port Sudan Tycoons, 4-0, in Intercontinental Baseball Coalition action at Plano Grounds. Khartoum pitcher and La Victoria, Dominican Republic, native Bartolo Águila had an outstanding performance. Águila, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Cheol-min O earned the save, his 4th.
It could have been a different outcome for Khartoum, had it not been for Francisco Flores, the 16-year old right fielder . Flores contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Khartoum up, 2-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Khartoum manager Mito Nii.
Khartoum is now 31-22, Port Sudan 22-31.
