Juan Canseco, who is tied for 2nd in the IBC in wins with 6, had a strong outing for the Asmara Modernists against the Addis Ababa Rifters at The Rift. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Canseco, now 6-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. With this game in the books, Asmara is 23-21, Addis Ababa 20-24.
Liam Rabbetts came through with a big-time hit for Asmara. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Canseco called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
