Kabsabet Rallies for 3-2 Victory
|
The Addis Ababa Rifters could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ken Pruitt into a win. Instead, the Kabsabet Duba prevailed, 3-2. Pruitt threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Kabsabet reliever John Rose picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Soshu Terada was saddled with the loss. Nick Martínez sewed up the save, his 7th.
Kabsabet needed the clutch hitting of Weston Morton to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Duba on top, 3-2. For the game, Morton had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Morton.
Kabsabet currently is in 6th place in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Red Sea League at 17-21.
