Raiders Sneak By Tycoons, 2-1

The Khartoum Raiders eked out a 2-1 win versus the Port Sudan Tycoons at Plano Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher José Liñares. He was terrific. Mark Knight came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Rainer Aarnoutse earned the save for Khartoum, his 3rd.
Khartoum used the timely hitting of Lee Ackerman to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Raiders on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Port Sudan skipper Pedro Barrón.
Port Sudan, with the loss, is 4-6.
