Auckland picked up a win at Aukland Grounds, bumping off the Brisbane Stevedores, 4-3. Pitcher Stan Jones was a major reason the Aces BC emerged victorious. Auckland reliever Norberto Pérez was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Basile Michelozzi took the loss. The 6th-place Aces BC have won 5 consecutive games.
The Aces BC got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Tim Powers. For the game, Powers was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Auckland a 3-2 lead.
"I was able to miss barrels for the most part and the guys behind me made plays," said Jones.
