4-1 Loss to Kookaburras Extends Auckland Losing Streak
|
The North Sydney Kookaburras picked up a win at Aukland Grounds, topping the Auckland Aces BC, 4-1. On the mound for North Sydney was right-hander António Barrón. He played a principal role in the triumph. Barrón picked up the win for North Sydney, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 8-3. Françisco Roger collected save number 15.
North Sydney used a clutch at-bat from Roy Scott to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Kookaburras ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Barrón.
The 7th-place Aces BC have lost 10 straight games.
