The Tauranga Taniwha picked up a win at The Ship Yard, downing the Brisbane Stevedores, 8-0. On the mound for Tauranga was left-hander António Vázquez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Taniwha now have a mark of 34-30.

Tauranga starter António Vázquez was a master of his craft. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.

"When António executes, it really doesn't matter what the other lineup is," said Tauranga field general Christian Butler.
