Stevedores Turn Back Crows, 4-2

The Brisbane Stevedores knocked off the Wagga Wagga Crows, 4-2, in Intercontinental Baseball Coalition action at The Ship Yard. Brisbane pitcher and Sendai, Japan, native Sumitomo Nakamura had an outstanding performance. The Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Tasman League-leading Stevedores have a record of 36-22.
The Stevedores got a big at-bat from second baseman Jonathan Belcher. For the game, Belcher went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Brisbane a 3-0 lead.
"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Nakamura.
