Tauranga used a superb performance from starting pitcher Young-kwang Yang to down the Melbourne Bitters, 5-1. Tauranga now sits at 23-31, while Melbourne falls to 23-31.
It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Yang, who tallied 12 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing just 1 hit. Yang goes to 2-4 on the year with 45 strikeouts.
"Young-kwang was dynamite," said Tauranga manager Bennett Dean.
