Auckland Upended by Brisbane, 3-1
|
The Brisbane Stevedores took on the Auckland Aces BC at Aukland Grounds.
In a low-scoring contest between the Brisbane Stevedores and the Auckland Aces BC, 19-year old right-handed pitcher Sumitomo Nakamura proved to be the difference. The Brisbane right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Stevedores win. Sean Floyd picked up the save for Brisbane, his 16th of the year.
Brisbane used the hitting of Cameron Graham to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Stevedores on top, 2-0. For the game, Graham had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Graham called the win "a team effort."
The Stevedores now have a record of 28-20 with the win over Auckland.
