Okinawa pitcher Héctor Anaya did his part in helping his team beat the Bakersfield Bears, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 8 innings, Anaya surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The 4th-place Shisa now have a win-loss record of 52-42.

Okinawa used a well-timed hit by Pedro Bermúdez to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shisa ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
