Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Brisbane Stevedores and the Melbourne Bitters. Brisbane won it, 2-1. Brisbane starter Ed Boyd was in command. Boyd got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Tadasuke Hasegawa.
