Sandoval Lifts Crows to 5-2 Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 18-year old center fielder Alonso Sandoval, the Wagga Wagga Crows defeated the Tauranga Taniwha, 5-2. David Carlos sewed up the save, his 10th. The first-place Crows are now 18-7, the Taniwha 12-13.
Wagga Wagga took a 5-0 lead on Sandoval's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Noriyuki Shini in the top of the sixth, propelled Wagga Wagga to the win.
Wagga Wagga manager Ronnie Russell praised his team's "energy."
