Castillo Helps Crocodile Hunters Defeat Taniwha, 6-2
|
Sunshine Coast first baseman Esteban Castillo played a vital role in his team's 6-2 conquest of Tauranga. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Sunshine Coast. Rubén Reyes picked up the save for Sunshine Coast, his 3rd of the year. Sunshine Coast has a record of 6-13, placing them last in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Tasman League.
The Crocodile Hunters got a big at-bat from left fielder Joseph Camacho. For the game, Camacho was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Sunshine Coast a 3-1 lead.
"Nice to get this one," said Castillo. "We've been scuffling."
