Hobart and Tauranga duked it out and the Devils came out victorious.

Led by Gabriel López, the Hobart Devils downed the Tauranga Taniwha, 5-2. López hit 2 home runs for the Devils. The Taniwha fall to 7-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2041 season.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Zhi-xin Nao? The Hobart shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Devils on top, 3-1. For the game, Nao had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Baden Tamburrino. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
