North Sydney picked up a win at Victoria Field, bumping off the Melbourne Bitters, 3-1. Pitcher António Barrón was a major reason the Kookaburras emerged victorious. In 7 innings, Barrón surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was Goldofrede Burmester, his 1st.
Pete Miller, who is rated as the 79th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Miller contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put North Sydney up, 2-0.
