Wagga Wagga Gets 2-1 Road Win
|
The Wagga Wagga Crows eked out a 2-1 win versus the Melbourne Bitters at Victoria Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Fernando Silva. He was terrific. In 5.1 innings, Silva surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The save went to David Carlos, his 6th this season.
Alfonso Rodríguez had a direct impact on the outcome. Rodríguez contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Wagga Wagga up, 2-0.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Rodríguez.
The Crows have hit the ground running, raising their record to 8-4. While it's still too soon to talk about Wagga Wagga hoisting their 1st IBC Cup trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
