North Sydney Nets 2-1 Win Versus Taniwha
|
In a tight game between the North Sydney Kookaburras and the Tauranga Taniwha, pitcher Vicente García was terrific on the mound. The North Sydney left-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. With the win, North Sydney improves its record to 2-5.
North Sydney used a timely hit from Bill Reid to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Kookaburras ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said García. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
