Crows Pin 2-1 Loss on Tauranga
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Wagga Wagga Crows and the Tauranga Taniwha, pitcher Roman Raikov was the difference between victory and defeat. The Wagga Wagga right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Crows win. David Carlos, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. With the win, Wagga Wagga lifts its record to 4-0.
Wagga Wagga went in front, 2-0, on Ryutaro Arai's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Arai hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Tauranga pitcher Ryan Villanueva visibly perturbed.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Wagga Wagga manager Ronnie Russell.
