Crocodile Hunters Handed 5-2 Loss by Auckland
|
The Auckland Aces BC knocked off the Sunshine Coast Crocodile Hunters, 5-2, in Intercontinental Baseball Coalition action at Steve Irwin Stadium. Auckland pitcher and Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, native Stan Jones had an outstanding performance. The save went to Jay Gonzáles, his 1st this season. With the win, Auckland is 1-2.
Auckland won the game in part because of Ben Medina. The second baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Aces BC ahead, 4-1. For the game, Medina had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Auckland manager Marcus Stuart.
