Brisbane Bats Cold in 7-0 Loss
|
Tauranga Taniwha starter Young-kwang Yang turned in a top-notch performance against the Brisbane Stevedores at Baypark at the Mount. The result was a win for the Taniwha, 7-0. Yang picked up the win for Tauranga, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. With the win, Tauranga is 1-1.
The Taniwha got a big at-bat from left fielder Joe Eaton. For the game, Eaton went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Tauranga a 2-0 lead.
In comments to the Tauranga Daily News, Eaton admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
