Crocodile Hunters Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
The Sunshine Coast Crocodile Hunters satisfied the home crowd at Steve Irwin Stadium, treating them to a season-opening win, 4-2, over the Auckland Aces BC. Starting Pitcher Dai-lin Sun was the standout performer for Sunshine Coast. Sun got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The save went to Rubén Reyes, his 1st this season.
The Crocodile Hunters got a big at-bat from center fielder Raúl Pacheco. For the game, Pacheco went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Sunshine Coast a 3-1 lead.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Pacheco. "More importantly, I had a good game."
