The Daegu Dragons had to overcome a fine effort from Gimpo pitcher Bryan Pearce to win, 4-2, in 10 innings at The Cage. Pearce went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. Daegu is last in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Hanguk League with a record of 16-29.
Daegu needed the clutch hitting of Satoshi Mochizuki to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Dragons on top, 4-2. For the game, Mochizuki had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Keep grinding," said Mochizuki, "and good things are bound to happen."
