Arsenal Win at Edo, 8-6
|
Kure picked up a win at Newark Grounds, bumping off the Edo Battousai, 8-6. Pitcher Luis Jiménez was a major reason the Arsenal emerged victorious. The win went to Pablo Sánchez in relief, making him now 3-5. Joe Evans took the loss for Edo. Kure is 63-50 and Edo, with the loss, 53-60.
Kure used a timely hit from Seitaro Ohayashi to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Arsenal ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Jiménez.
