Tight Tilt Goes to Thunderhawks, 1-0
|
The Tumwater HS Thunderhawks scored a tight, 1-0 win versus the Yerington HS Skeeters at Skeeters Ballpark. Tumwater HS pitcher Cory Holt held his own in the contest. The winning pitcher was Holt, now 1-1. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Picking up the save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Lúcio Young.
Pedro Gómez came through with a big-time hit for Tumwater HS. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Tumwater HS manager Fausto Navarro praised his team's "energy."
