A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the De La Salle HS Myrmidon and Rio Rancho HS Goats.

The De La Salle HS Myrmidon clobbered the Rio Rancho HS Goats, 13-2, at Myrmidon Ballpark. Leading the onslaught was Ramiro Garza. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for De La Salle HS. Liam Childress was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Daryl Davis earned the save, his 1st, for the Myrmidon.

With De La Salle HS leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Garza hit a fastball from John MacDonald for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Myrmidon ahead, 5-0.

"They took it to us," said Rio Rancho HS manager Jim Hill.
