At Pusan Field, the Busan Whales and Suwon Morning Swords were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Suwon Morning Swords beat the Busan Whales, 5-2. Suwon pitcher and Hattiesburg, Mississippi, native Don Stewart led the way. The winner was Stewart. He threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Zhi-qiang Ec. Cahyono Ananas collected his 10th save.
Juan Colón had a big 2-run home run for the Morning Swords in the top of the fifth inning. With Suwon leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from Zhi-qiang Ec, the 3rd overall pick in the 2042 draft, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Morning Swords on top, 3-0.
"I was able to get good plays made behind me," Stewart said. "And I was able to make pitches when I needed to make pitches."
The first-place Morning Swords now sit at 22-10.
